Wearing a Scarf as a Headband
Headbands have become rather popular since they appeared in several recent major runway shows. I keep getting Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) vibes from several of the headband wearing fashion bloggers I follow on Instagram, making me even more excited that the show is getting a reboot (expected in the spring of 2020, who's watching with me?!). If styled correctly, headbands have a way of completing an outfit while keeping hair out of the face.
While a standard headband is often used to achieve the look, wearing a scarf neatly rolled up and tied around the head is one of my favorite style hacks. Once headbands go out of style (trends never hang around forever!) I can continue styling my scarf in other ways. I recently wore the Peonies on Carrara marble scarf with a crocheted Kobi Halperin dress and Tabitha Simmons shoes. I'll admit, it was a little daunting venturing out of my comfort zone and wearing a scarf as a headband. However, it was fun and reminded me that I need to be a little more fearless and have fun styling my wardrobe.

Hi!
I love all
Of your designs! Your an amazing designer.
I have a disease called systemic lupus.
There is no cure and there is no standard treatment. Which is the mystery of the disease.
Unfortunately
In my case my disease only responds to high doses of steroids. None of the other treatment plans have worked.
The side effects of steroids and the disease are horrible.
I remember when I was diagnosed I was in a website for lupus patients.
One woman said that she had taken all the mirrors in her house down. She had not looked in a mirror for years. She said it was too painful to see the person the disease had transformed her into.
I thoughts it was crazy.
23 years later I have done the same thing. It has been like that for about 18 years now.
I am very sick and I am quarantined 24/7/365
When I am not at home I am in the hospital.
I have not been to a mall literally in years.
If I want something I have to shop online.
I can tell you that is not easy.
Because of the weight I I have gained over the last 23 years from the disease and steroids it is hard to find clothing.
I am allergic to anything that is not cotton.
Add in the size I need and we’ll i am screwed.
I was. 10/13 I am now REALLY HUGE. I GO FROM A 26/28 to a 29/30.
I wear polo t shirts exclusively. Because the fabric is soft and my size. I get a 6x men’s size.
The fabrics works for my severe fibromyalgia and the size is big and roomy. I hate clothes that are like tight or fitted.
I wear a lot of pajamas and pajama bottoms.
Again comfort and size.
However finding cute cotton pajama bottoms or even sets is very difficult. Sets for my size don’t exist.
The shirts are too short and fitted in women’s sizes and the pants are too short or too long.
Again
Regular clothes are impossible
Anyway
I love all of your designs.
I am wondering I know your busy if you could help me in finding or making and designing some pajamas. And a few pieces of clothing.
Maybe you have some students at FIT that could help.
Again
Your busy
I am also asking because my daughter has a serious serous boyfriend and we are at the meet the parents stage.
I have to have surgery in my head to remove a large area of skin cancer.
So we won’t meet until later this year Christmas maybe.
But I am asking for your help also because my daughter is embarrassed by me.
Being in a wheel chair and not looking my best and not being able to wear cute clothes anymore because they are impossible to find.
Why does the fashion industry not make cute ready to wear clothing for us.
And if you do find something style wise it is in a hideous color but more often a horrific print.
SERIOUSLY.
WHI DO THEY THINK IS GOING TO WEAR IT!?
NO ONE IS THE AMSWER.
ANYWAY
I want to make her happy that I am there!
Also I would like to meet him and not have him look at me and go you can tell she is sick because look st her clothes etc.
of course
I would pay for the fabric and labor.
I don’t know what you would charge I don’t have a lot of money.
Also an issue when trying to buy nice clothes and pajamas.
WHY DOES THE INDUSTRY THINK WE SHOULD BE CHARGED BECAUSE WE ARE OVERWEIGHT?
Literally we are being made to pay for the fact that we are overweight no matter the reason
And
THEN THE CLOTHES WE BUY ARE UGLY JN TOP OF THAT!
LITERALLY WE ARE BEING CHARGED LIKE A GROCERY STORE CHARGES FOR FRUIT.
BY OUR WEIGHT!
Again
Maybe there are some other students that would be willing to help and perhaps y’all could get credit from the school for helping me?’
IDK
AGAIN
I know your busy and more likely then not I won’t hear back from you at all.
I was shopping the other day in line and couldn’t find cute snuggly pajamas or clothes and I watched the show and loved you and your designs from it .
I said to myself hey you need to find someone who does that and maybe have them help and create some pajamas and clothes
POOF

Being sick 😷 sometimes I miss a lot of calls especially when I am in the hospital.
Which is quite often.
By my kids calculation in the last 6 years i have spent about 84% of my time in Piedmont Hospital in Atl GA.
Yes last years was the first Christmas 🎄 I was home for and that was because my dad was dying and said he wanted his last Christmas with his children and grand children together.
But no worries I ended up in the beginning of January in the hospital. Being out of quarantine was not my best idea.
But I wanted to be with my family.
Unfortunately
That was the last I saw him because I was very very sick and when he passed I was there for the funeral however I had in a piccolo line and ran drugs four times a day IV.
When I got back from that I became very very ill and it was the reason my doctors were afraid for me to go in the first place.
Anyway
I wanted to give you an idea 💡 of how much time I am not at home.
Which is also why I would love pajamas. Because I wear them most of the time.
And again there is nothing out there.
Even in lingerie l. All I can ever find if that is cheap fabric poor designs and ugly prints.
I figure the designers figure the lights are off anyway so who cares!
Also
Because I am well known and frequently there ( in hospital)
I am not made or forced to wear the hospital gowns.
So cute pajamas would be great and comfy!
AGAIN
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I AM HOPEFUL MAYBE THERE IS A WAY YOU AND MAYBE DOME FRIENDS COULD HELP ME.
I don’t have a lot of money but I could pay materials and labor.
We are financially snowed under.
We have one income and my husband is a car salesman. Business these days with all of our modern technology is tough.
Hopefully you can help.
Again
SINCERELY
