Kate Stoltz for YSL Beauty Posted on 11 Feb 06:00 , 0 comments
Kate Stoltz partnered with Yves Saint Laurent Beauty for the launch of their All Hours Foundation 5 months ago on Instagram. I've been using the foundation ever since, and am still as impressed with it as I was when I first tried it on. (The photos are unedited except for increased brightness) I have always believed strongly in letting your skin breathe without foundation as often as possible. Your skin will look it's best if it can naturally breathe and heal without having your facial pores blocked by a heavy foundation. However, I still want to wear a full face of makeup for special events, especially red carpets and photoshoots.
I spent years using drug store products that were made with the cheapest ingredients and having my skin suffer through the aftermath of the exposure to oils and dirty pigments. I can confidently tell you it's worth spending time researching different products, then saving and splurging a little on a good foundation. YSL Beauty's foundation has become my product of choice, but I know there are other worthy brands if you are seeking more affordable options. The important thing is that you are spending a little time and effort on making sure your foundation is the best you can find for your individual skin and budget.
The twenty four hour YSL Beauty matte foundation is made in France with only the finest ingredients and pigments. The buildable medium coverage is oil free and tested by dermatologists, resulting in a flawless application that is designed to do minimal damage to your skin. I find the YSL foundation is lighter than the foundations that I had been using, but somehow still provides incredible coverage for discoloration or redness. The texture is weightless, and so far I haven't had problems with caking, dryness or flakiness. I didn't understand what people were talking about when they referred to a foundation as 'a good foundation' until I tried it. Now I understand that a good foundation shouldn't make your skin feel uncomfortable, itchy, or oily. It should feel like you're not wearing anything at all.
While I'm writing this, my face is makeup free. The only thing I put on my face in the morning after washing my face is an eye serum and an antioxidant that protects my skin from environmental damage. As I get older, I am increasingly aware of how important it is to take care of your skin, especially around the eyes. For me, that means focusing on preventive care and wearing makeup as little as possible. But when I wear makeup, I want my skin to be able to breathe and feel as good as it does without.
What are the beauty products that have transformed the way you approach makeup? I'd love to hear about them and potentially try them out!
