Dressing up to go shopping is part of the fun! Shopping is an experience that you play a big part in creating. If you are dressed nicely, you'll feel more confident of yourself. When you enter a store feeling self confident, you'll be able to chat with the staff, who should be willing to talk about the brand and products with you in a way that is educational and helps inform your purchases. It's also important to be level headed about shopping and spend money on a few items that you'll love for years to come instead of feeling rushed to make purchases (continue reading...)
A crisp white button down shirt is an essential garment in any woman’s wardrobe, especially during the summer. The classic white shirt is a modest piece that can easily be rolled up and unbuttoned to fit the personality of the individual wearing the piece. I personally have several variations of white button down shirts in my closet: a crisp cotton, a soft silk shirt for dressy events, and a more casual piece that I wear as a coverup while lounging by the pool or on weekends. While a white button down is far from a groundbreaking style, it’s a solid
Visiting Nantucket has made me realize (again) that I want a backyard filled with hydrangeas, hostas and lavender . I stayed at the White Elephant, a lovely hotel on the outskirts of the town of Nantucket, overlooking a harbor filled with boats and yachts. Walking around town was a pleasant early morning activity before the summer temperatures drove me out to the beach. Window boxes filled with blossoms and pretty grasses graced many of the homes. The weathered grey shingled houses combined with the pretty flower displays are unmistakably Nantucket...
Excerpt from Girl's Life Style by Vara Gianna, a YouTuber and blogger about fashion: Friday, February 9 (Kate Stoltz Interview): In addition to keeping my makeup simple for Kate Stoltz, I went simple with my outfit, too, and opted for a cool jacket and heels. I chose an embellished, mustard bomber and black off-the-shoulder long sleeve sweater (both from Forever 21), along with Levi’s light-wash mom jeans, and black suede pearl Mary Jane heels from Urban Outfitters. Kate’s collection was undeniably stunning, eye-catching and a necessity for any woman who wants to look respectable yet attractive.
The Kate Stoltz NYC distressed shirt has been created to match the beach mood. I used a light and cool pastel fabric that can be worn on a hot day, or layered with a tank top on a cooler beach night. First I stitched the ends of the fabric with a tiny stitch to secure the fibers that I wanted to keep. I then removed the loose end fibers to create a frayed look. The ends of the two-tiered shirt, and the front detail on the shirt are finished with the resulting bespoke fringe. However, not all the ends are 'coming undone'. As I do with all Kate Stoltz NYC garments, I carefully finished the inside seams, this time using a 1/4 inch French seam.
Some people love Valentine's Day and see it as a day to show their loved ones how much they care about them. Others choose to ignore the holiday while some simply hate it. I overheard a classmate bemoaning about the fact that she dreads the day because she is a single girl. I know exactly how that feels.. When all of your friends are receiving beautiful roses and cute presents from the special person in their life, it's just a reminder that you are alone.
This year on Valentine's Day, I bought myself a dozen roses and am spoiling myself for a week. The reason why I am spoiling myself is because in order to appreciate other people, you need to first appreciate yourself and be happy with who you are. I know this is said over and over in inspirational blogs, etc. but it's so true. That's why I think Valentine's Day is fantastic for both singles and those in a relationship. It doesn't have to be a day set aside to show someone else that you love him/her. Valentine's Day can also be spent as a day to spoil yourself and get into touch with yourself. Love yourself and you'll be amazed at how people around you seem to magically turn into better people... it's the power of perception.
